I find acronyms to be a pain in the neck (PIN).

P&ID could mean any of the following:

Pass and Identification

Piping and Instrumentation Design

Process and Instrumentation Design

PID could mean Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or Pelvis in Distress.

A PID Controller is a Proportional Integral Derivative Controller.

Mechanization is providing human operators with the machinery to assist them with the physical requirements of the work.

P&ID Mechanization could mean a variety of things to a variety of people.

I find acronyms cause me pain a little lower down... and it looks like I may have guessed this one wrongly.
