BOX HOIST

07/16/2008 10:11 PM

I SAW IN A MAGAZINE A YEAR AGO A HOIST TO GET FILTER BOXES UP ONTO A COMMERCIAL ROOF. IT WAS ON AN END OF A ROPE. YOU DROPPED IT DOWN ON TOP OF A FILTER BOX AND IT WOULD LATCHE ON SO YOU COULD GET MULTIPLE BOXES ON A ROOF WITHOUT GOING UP AN DOWN THE ROOF. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I COULD FIND ONE?

Hello BKSMECHANICAL

Comment on your Post above:

PLEASE DO NOT USE ALL CAPITALS, as it is the Internet Forum equivalent of shouting loudly at the Reader.

You don't list your Country or Location, so no reader could possibly know which magazine you are talking about, or even in which language edition it was printed.

You can list Country & Location, in your Profile, and update your Profile, then it will show for all your Posts, including this one..

The hoist:

Regarding the hoist, surely you remember the magazine you read a year ago.

You should remember which magazine, if not the particular monthly Edition, and thus could check the back issues in the local library, or email that magazine, asking them for the information.

If you remember the magazine, and are unable to contact that magazine, advise here, and I shall attempt that for you.

Those are my immediate thoughts, as you surely don't expect readers to search all over the world, in every language, for your hoist, do you?

Reply here, with

Kind Regards....

SORRY I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT I NEED TO GET SO IN DEPTH ON A SIMPLE BOX HOIST. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM A COMPANY SENSIBLE PRODUCTS THAT MARKETS A SIMPLE HOIST WITHOUT SCOURING THE ENDS OF THE EARTH. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT.

Hello again, BKSMECHANICAL

I'm pleased you have solved the 'Hoist' problem.

You may well have your keyboard 'Caps lock', turned on.

Evidently you did not fully read my earlier reply, re SHOUTING AT THE READER, on Internet Forums, including Forum.

It is regarded as poor manners to SHOUT AT THE READER.

Kind Regards....

You are talking about a stupid box hoist -- you should be using that energy eliminating pistons for transportation -- you know that pistons are a very stupid idea in 2008 jump up and down with huge friction just to get 306deg rotation - work on this - use lighter than air gas to lift the ac box to the roof - i wonder if you have any thing turned on

Sparkstation is correct on all accounts. Keep in mind you asked a question of a large group of high thinkers. Next time sharpen up. My answer to the hoist is, my filter suppliers gives them too me because we purchase a lot of filters. The hoist is fairly cheap and looks like a set of old time ice tongs. You spread the tongs while up on the roof and lower the tongs down toward your boxes with a rope 4-5 feet above the box you let it drop and when it contacts the box the tongs pivot and wrap around the box. as you pull up on the rope your motion causes the tongs to grip the outside of the box.

When your box makes it to the roof all you need to do is spread the two sides of the (tongs) hoist and the box is released. If you are not familiar with ice tongs imagine bending a pair of scissors so the tips point inward and the finger loops were connected to a rope with two bars.

Better luck next time

Don't know if anyone else will see this, but you deserve a good answer for solving a vague question.

You must either be a nice guy or a big spender (or a combination of the two) for a supplier to treat you so nice!

Ried,

Probably both thanks. I only get 4-5 news once a year.

Thanks for the thought.

Mike
