07/31/2008 9:29 AM

it is possible to connect a transmitter output to a digital indicator and an digital contrioller

i am facing a problem in boiler unit

in the soot blower the comman header steam pressure is below the set point the controller will give an nc contact to retract the soot blower to prevent the pipe line from melting inside the boiler and indicator is used for indication at the center control room

If your transmitter has the same type of signal as the indicator or controller, there shouldn't be any problem.

For example, if the transmitter has a 4 to 20mA current output, and the indicator has a 4 to 20mA current input, they can be connected together.

If your transmitter is a current output and the indicator is a voltage input, you might be able to connect them together if you put a resistor across the indicators input terminals. That's only valid if both the transmitter and indicator use the same "zero type" signal (either both live-zero or both dead-zero).
