Norton requires Internet activation for a number of reasons.

1. It activates your software which only runs for a brief period if not registered. The subscription is typically for 12 months.

2. It allows you to update the virus library. Without regular periodic updates, a new virus might come out and you'd not be protected.

There may be a way of getting the activation codes by telephone similar to the method Microsoft but even if you did, that would still not solve how to upgrade your virus library.

Maybe you could check the Norton (Symantec) website ... but no ... you can't get on the internet... Hmmm ... Maybe you could write a letter to Norton. But then, when you get their letter back, I suggest that you put it in the Norton box (together with the CD) for a couple of days. Doing this, possible virusses in the letter will be killed. (PS : I would shake it now and then, just to be sure...)

But, if you can't get on the internet ... How did you get here on CR4 ?

I hope this helps...
