I am not able to lock(Ctrl+Alt+Delete) my pc. The windows secutiry dialog does not pop up on pressing the shortcut key. Sometimes it just doesnt work. I have Windows XP SP2 OS loaded in my pc. Pls help.

Update your PC promptly, to WinXP SP3 and all the other updates, for your own peace of mind and Security of your PC.
Next: Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
Read about "Process Explorer" there, then download and install it.
During the Instal, you will be asked if you want Process Explorer to REPLACE Windows Task Manager.
Say or tick "Yes". (You can alter that later if you wish).
Now your <CTRL><ALT><DEL> Keys will bring up Process Explorer, and you can also alter in the Options and/or View for your own pleasure.
Enjoy seeing what is happening behind the Windows scenery.
You may Right Click on any Process, and you get a submenu, which you can select.
