Glue for Staple pin

08/04/2008 1:45 PM

Hi,

I am looking for a adhesive / glue which is used to bond staple pins (all kinds) during production process. An ideal glue should be less viscous (thin), transparent liquid. It should provide a very strong bond at a temerature around 50 to 60 degrees centrigrade. It should be corrosion resistant. It should also provide a liqour / shiny finish.

More over staple pins should not seperate from each other under ordinary circumstances for very long period. Could some one guide me how could I find it? How can I classify it?

There is a company in the USA that has more types of glue than I can list. Try www.devcon.com Their engineers will help more than I could. Good luck.

An ordinary clear varnish for wood should do the job. use straight from the can or if you need to thin it then use lacquer thinners or even acetone- they will drop the viscosity quickly and keep up the solids. after a short air drying to get rid of the solvent drying can be apeeded up by baking -colour should not be a problem so any yellowing from baking should nbot be a problem.

Any clear lacquer will do the job but the domestiic varnish will give the highest solids and so strongest film it really just a supporting skin that you need.

Cyanoacrilate (crazy glue) might work. The suggestion to contact devcon is good. You might also contact 3M (Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing) as they have some exotic fastening compounds also.
