DOES SILICON ENGINEERS EXSIST FOR EVER

hi,

recently i had seen in a newspaper about the use of some nitrate insted of silicon,it is said that this will substute silicon in few years so what actually are the silicon based industies going to do about this,will silicon semiconductor engineers exist there after??

Do you mean nitride? As in gallium nitride? Can you provide a link to the article? Those of us who used copper oxide were able to transition to germanium, then to silicon without a big deal (except for Del who still uses cat's whiskers ). Wafer design may change, but smart engineers should be able to adapt to new technologies.
