Depending on what type of components your looking for. For automation and general control electronics, I will go to PLC Center.com. I don't usually buy from there, but they have just about every model # and manufacturer you can come across and you can get a generalized price on components.

Only 3 catalogues are in use here:

  • RS Components
  • Maplin
  • Farnell

(usual disclaimers).

Here in the US I rely most heavily on:

  • DigiKey
  • Mouser Electronics
  • Newark

All of the above have excellent parametric search. I'll also suggest Allied Electronics as a possible option. However, in my experience their search is a little less helpful and occasionally a bit frustrating.

And as PW Slack says, the usual disclaimers apply. I'm not endorsing any of the above companies other than from the aspect of their search.
