I am John Wear, Owner of Trident Environmental Services & Technologies. My work through past years has put me in positions of addressing sludge issues. I have noticed that one reply to your inquiry stated that the use of a floculant could help solve problems you are facing. I agree that the suggestion may possibly lead toward a solution, however it is important to know more about the contents of the waste and/or byproducts at your facility. I have several questions:
1. What are you refining?
2. What is the volume of effluent?
3. What are known characteristics of weather and environment around your waste handling facility?
4. Need to know the characteristics of the water used to move the waste at issue.
5. Does your effluent tend toward highly aerobic or less aerobic and are you injecting air into your effluent?
6. Do you have efficient aerators? How do you aerate.
7. Do you have an efficient means of separating hydrocarbons from water?
8. Do you have sufficient evapotranspiration service or space to settle out solids?
The list of questions could continue. I hesitate to go on-and-on, but would like to know more about your present process. I think I can work up a valid solution with additional information.
