Ribbing Form Tool

09/20/2006 8:27 AM

Can anyone provide a link to a punch tool that would allow me to add a rib on a U-channel. What I would hope this rib(s) would do is increase part strength without additional brake operations. I would like information on the spec of the a typical feature and any punch tool vendor. The former would allow me to do preliminary FEA and see whether it's satisfactory in my application. Thank you.

Have you considers using a rotary punch and die (wheel set) to do this operation? I realize this operation will require an additional or somewhat modified machine tool, but it could be speedy and eliminate an extra brake operation.

Yes, I've found a wheel ribbing tool set to accomplish what I'd like to do. Thank you for the suggestions.
