I have some of these LPG gas sensor in my personal research item stock. It is about US$20 each sensor for evaluation purpose only. If you are in India then write to me. For sending abroad, you need to pay for shipment cost. You can also get these from manufacturers.

What I have is conductive membrane based sensor with sensing electronics that converts sensor resistance into frequency. Greater LPG gas leakage, greater is the frequency. You can sense 100ppm to 10000ppm of LPG gas and can get 100Hz to 10000Hz frequency (not calibrated). In pulsed form, signal can reach long distance.

I also have a Microprocessor board which counts frequency and generates alarm signals (Green, Yellow and Red) and also sends serially the frequency data to PC as ASCII numbers. You can use this Microcontroller board for safety warning or alarm and it normally works without computer help. You can also get graphic record on computer screen.

Complete hardware and software for experimenting and research purpose can be given for about US$500 with software for PC running on Windows platform.

If there is interest among discussion group then I can give more details here else contact me in person at sst (at) sensorstechnology.com and do not send spam here.

You can write to me or call me at 0091-751-2470680 / 4065716. These lines are 24 hours engineering help. Students are welcome to learn at my place.
