How do I empty the printer queue?

08/12/2008 3:30 PM

Somehow there ended up 74 print jobs in my printer and it won't stop printing. I've hit "cancel" about 100 times, shut it down turned it off, uncoupled the USB from the computer, but it won't stop printing! It is a HP Photosmart D7360 I bot new in 12-06. HP is no help because its out of warranty. Help!

Did you unplug the printer and plug it back in while restarting the computer? Have you made an offering to the computer gods (I generally go with goats, for some reason they really like goats)?

First, disconnect your printer, then get into the control panel and find the printer and fax icon, open it, find the printer and double click it to open up the print queue. Then highlight and delete until peace has been restored.

First, the usual caveats.

Provide some information.

Which OS?

Direct connection or is a print server involved?

You need to go into the printer queue with proper administrative credentials and del/cancel/stop/otherwise depending on the OS (see above).

Yanking the plug ain't gonna get er done.

I usually delete all my wife's bogus print jobs acquired during the week on Saturday or when I get a chance.

Don't expect any help from HP.
