Transmission Protocols

Hi..

The RTU can read modbus protocol IED and send to SCADA using IEC protocol.

There are many IEC protocols, ie IEC 60870-5-101,102,103 & 104.

My question is, all these IEC protocols are compatible with modbus protocol IEDs?

hi....

In such cases protocol converters are used to avoid the communication problems. In your question you specified that, the RTU can read modbus protocol IED but the scada can receive through IEC protocols, ie IEC 60870-5-101,102,103 & 104. here the converter is used. there are somany companys providing these kind of protocol converter gateways.
