What the Heck is This Connector?

08/22/2008 12:18 AM

I am looking for this piece. i do NOT know what you call it. It is CONNECTOR that fits inside of an aluminum or fiberglass hollow pole and the buttons 'pop" through holes to hold an attachment in place.

You push the buttom down and slide the attachement out.

Can anybody ID this thing and/or let me know where it could be purchased?

Thank you.

Hello,

The piece I need fits inside of a 1-1/4" ID fiberglass tube . It isn't a really machined fit but it held a metal saw blade fopr pruning tree limbs. I need the same thing .

Thank you.

They are usually refered to as a "snap lock" but I'm not sure where you can purchase them. You may have to purchase the whole pole.

Snap locks have been used for years to allow photographers to extend the telescoping legs on tripods.

I recently saw something like this at my brothers house on a recent visit to the UK. It was a shower curtain rail that is fitted around the bath, the curtain being necessary because the shower is over the bath, and you have to stand in the bath to use it. May help?

Regards JD.

I have never seen that specific part, they are usualy made by manufacturers for there specific equipment.

Try changing to a screw together system used by tent pole manufacturers.
