Guest's Enter and sign in Please!

08/22/2008 2:21 PM

I don't really hate "guest's" but why won't people sign up with a name? Are they afraid we may know them or possibly get to like them? Next thing you know we find out they live near us, or may be in the area for business. So we invite them over for a drink or a spot of tea. Then they meet my daughter, who is a model, and they hit it off really well. Next you know there dating, engaged, and plan to get married.

Well theres no way in H3$$ I'm gonna let my daughter have the last name of GUEST!

The problem is we very rarely get a reply from anyone registered as guest concerning their problem. We don't know if there problem is solved or for that matter which Guest is Guest!! We've all complained or voiced our opinion about this.

DO YOU THINK I'M JUST BEATING A DEAD HORSE? or Is the last name guest nothing me or my daughter should fret about?

Also, I get the impression that some posts are just one of many shots in the dark taken by clueless idiots.

As a recently-reformed "Guest" who has taken far more than my fair share of such shots in the dark, I freely admit to being both clueless & an idiot. In fact, I'll sign a notarized triplicate form stating exactly that. Gimmie a pen.

But that's exactly why I come here. That is, I come here to become less of both. Heck, I'll settle for less of one.

Why didn't I register before? Well...since I didn't actually have to then I didn't bother to. Because, you know, being a clueless idiot takes up most of the day. Turns out you can't be this stupid AND lazy. So no time for that registration stuff.

Also I had this brilliant angle to get rich quick here as "Guest". Didn't work out so good. With the warming seas the skyrocketing cost of goat milk, I'd be lucky to break even. So I bit the bullet and registered.

Good time of day charsley99,

Sometimes I'd been wondering as well, as what a point to hide your nick (not a real name!) for placing comments or quest? Isn't it a kind of paranoya?

But after all I was calming myself anyone is at his right to do so. Everyone would have some of reasons for entering as guest that I couldn't take in account due to endless list of human beings' motivation.

Here's very liberal politic at CR4 and I do like and support this one at all.

I would suggest us do not be so worry of that, especially do not be too vexed.

caramba

Personally I am not vexed and it really doesn't aggravate me. Normally we could contact the person through their avatar to see how they made out, or if further help were needed. It seems like most people looking for answers to homework log on this way.

Yes I agree at times being anonymous is a good idea. Though if people are serious about needing help, logging on is a much better way to remain in touch.

I have not meant you, but to be honest I was vexing some but not for the long time. But I would neither ask admins to change forum rulers nor appeal users to log in under its avatars. To reamin in touch under own avatar is much more suitable though.

Some people I would assume just have one question, they post it, read for a few days and move on.

It would be nice if they'd reply and let us know if we'd helped in anyway.

Dead horsy beat like a drum...

Also, I have noticed in a number of the blogs that there are some people who seem to be getting iritated becuase they are not expressing a sound argument in support of their opinion or perspective and seem to start getting irritated, soon there is a log in by a guest making rude personal attacks on contributors who seem to have been questioning the original postees arguments. So I have come to suspect that a few contributors who seem to have strong opinions, but either lack the communicative skills or the scientific evidence to support , switch tactics to attacking the other people who question them, however, they are politically astute enough to know not to do this directly and log in anonymously in an attempt to create the appearance of outside supporters for the position, distract others who are questioning the prosition, and/or maybe create some animosity towards those questioning that position because of other issues.

Additionally, I have noted that there are many contributors who sometimes just forget to log in, or do not have the capability of logging in at the time they post. thus they post as guest, and sometimes add a tag at bottom of post indicating who they are.

It is not a problem when the question is posed by a guest. It becomes a problem when several guest answer, because you don't who's who. Is it the guest who posed the question or is it the same guest who has previously posted? You may respond to a guest, but not sure if they have rethought the question when guest posted later.

It gets confusing!!!!!!!!!

Hi, All

I would suggest to protect the privacy and to limit the guest from viewing, why dont stop the access of the guest from viewing any posed since the guest couldn't posed?

Only those member able to view, posed, reply after log in?

Regard's

Guest
