Hi,

Less than and equal to 11 kV is LV.

11 kV & above upto 66 kV is MV.

110, 132 kV HV.

220 KV & upto 400 kV - EHV.

Regards,

N.Suresh

The boundaries between the various voltage levels may be different for different countries. Generally (most of the countries) the following terms for system voltages are used:
– low voltage (LV) refers to Un ≤ 1 kV;
– medium voltage (MV) refers to 1 kV < Un ≤ 35 kV;
– high voltage (HV) refers to 35 kV < Un ≤ 230 kV;
– extra high voltage (EHV) refers to 230 kV < Un.

IE rules specifies

LV <= 230V

MV <= 600V

HV <= 11kv

EHV <= 66kv

, why there is difference in IE rules and industry understanding?

Regards
