heat transfer

hi, i have installed d/p flow transmitter on the steam line. i run leads from root valve to the transmitter about 6 meter, leads filled with demin water, i just want to know how much temperature will travel up to the transmitter?

steam temp. 300 deg C

Hi,

I suppose you have to use Condensate pot For steam Application as per std Installation Details

Hi, the installation of the transmitter is with condensate pot, mounted on the process root valve, i huw much heat will transfer to the instrument manifold or every 1 foot how much temp? will travel toward manifold.

You would loose about 100 deg per foot. This was the rule of thumb for designs in the EPC firms when working with High Temp applications such as steam and super heated steam applications. the other consideration is always make sure to mount to the side or below the Heat source. If you are using filled lines mounting below will always help in keeping the impulse lines filled. Otherwise one has to calculate the tranference of temperuature overtime through the buffer media that will have a heat coefficient.... Hope this helps.
