I am willing to admit both that engineers have something akin to what your concept of a soul may be, and that they are capable of dreaming... and dreaming big, at times. Sadly, engineering is sometimes seen as soulless number crunching, but I would put a good engineer up against a Picasso, a Mozart, or a Kant, anyday.
Engineering is about creating new stuff out of thin air (albeit while standing on the shoulders of giants).
