Q.1. How to calculate the required flow (lpm) of water for Hearth Roll operating at

1200 Deg. celsius atmosphere for following given data:

Max. Inlet water temperature: 45 Deg celsius

Max. outlet temperature: 55 Deg celsius

I D of hearth Roll: 100 mm

Q.2. What is the relationship between pressure and flow of fluid? a. When pressure

is 100 mili bar/cm^2. b. When pressure is 1 kg/cm^2

There is a relationship between pressure drop and flowrate, which is a function of the pipe length and diameter, its internal roughness, the number and type of fittings, and the fluid properties. Use the Darcy-Weisbach equation.

How much heat do you want to remove? How fast do you want to remove the heat?

Hi!

I don't remember how to calculate the flow but I recently discovered a very good software for piping and hydraulics systems; take a look to http://www.eng-software.com/products.

Best regards

Q1. I can not answer. Because you need to know how fast you want to cool it.

Q2. Water is usually considered incompressable until it (turns to steam).
