kems

hi all

in oil drilling rig there is ''clink'' kinetic energy monitoring system ''kems''. its purpose to control and watch the movement of the traveling block on the rig floor.

it controls the braking of the drawworks with closed loop control as per the manual.the plc send varaible dc voltage to the brake solenoid 0-24vdc, depending on the movement of the driller joystick.

my question is: is there pressure sensor to send signal back to the plc to tell that the brake calliper pressure is ok or it needs more braking?

i can not find something about it in the manual and i realy wants to know more about it.

if some body had seen this please advise with some info.

many thanks
