Hello RAJ KUMAR

There are various types of "temperature switch", all of which rely on a physical force, either from the applied heat, removal of heat or both (not simultaneously, of course).

Trip = switching action.

  1. Thermal mechanical - Heat expansion = mechanical trip
  2. Bi-metal - Heater element on bi-metal causes thermal expansion = trip
  3. Thermomagnetic - Magnet loses magnetism on heating = trip - magnet regains magnetism on cooling
  4. Pressure - heat causes expansion of fluid (Gas or liquid) - sensed by pressure switch = trip
  5. Semiconductor -Semiconductor junction conducts more or less with heat = trip
  6. Resistance - Electrical resistance increases with heat = trip
  7. Inductor - Winding inductance varies with heat = trip
  8. Optical - Heat causes Optical junction to switch = trip
  9. Other.....You can try and think about them, reasoning from basic principles, then reply here, with ......

Hope that assists you....

You can go to any site and search for "thermostats" & "temperature controllers". You will get lot of information.

All the best!
