How to design impeller of centrifugal gas compressor

A CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software package would greatly assist you. They are rather expensive, but perhaps your university has one already - or perhaps you have already thought of this and are looking for other guidance.

Yeah, that would work - except for a college student the price is probably way out of line. I wrote their sales group about pricing, and this is what i got back:
