coupling capacity

can any body tell me how can i decide coupling capacity

what will affect excess size of coupling on pump or under size coupling of pump

Over size will wast money. Under size will break. If you bring pump rating and motor ratings to a bearing and seal distributer. They will know what you will need, If you can't decide yourself.

How is stated before coupling size will be dictated by driven and driver rate. Some of the most commonly used coupling types are as follows:

· Rigid or solid couplings.

· Jaw couplings.

· Flexible disc couplings.

· Torque limiting couplings.

· Roller chain couplings.

· Universal joint couplings.

· Fluid couplings.

most of my couplings are jaw couplings

what they consider actually speed rating, shaft size or torque
