Actually it depends on where the steel is made what they call it as werkstoffe # 1.5415. in US the UNS designations for this material would include K1182, K12020, and K12320 according to my software. (I have personally not seen these grade designations before.)

Heres chem for 16Mo3:

Grade 16Mo3
WNr. 1.5415
Standard DIN EN 10216-2
Country Germany

Heat Analysis

Element

Symbol

Min.

Max.

Aluminum Al 0.04
Carbon C 0.12 0.2
Manganese Mn 0.4 0.8
Molybdenum Mo 0.25 0.35
Phosphorus P 0.03
Silicon Si 0.15 0.35
Sulfur S 0.025

What exactly do you mean by equivalent? Substitute grade to perform the same but different (cheaper) alloy? Same material different name?

best regards

milo
