faulty Alternator

Can a loose positive terminal connection to my gbattery later cause my alternator to fail.

Hello guest: it would be nice to have some specific details, but I would say yes.

Obviously a battery is integral to the system, but also the battery can be thought of as the final voltage regulator, if the connection to the battery was intermittent , the regulator would continuously be adjusting attempting to maintain a constant voltage, this could allow voltage spikes which could damage a internal voltage regulator, the alternator itself should be able to handle the situation, although there might be a chance of damaging the diodes.
