Design of overhead cable bridge

09/10/2008 8:32 AM

Hello everyone

I am designing a bridge for installing trays for MV cables. I am trying to specify the load per meter of the construction. I am taking into account the cables, the trays and the support structure. Is there anything else I should add or some rule specifying a safety design margin?

Thanks

You can add point load of 70kg (average weight for a human being) taking into account the load of a human being who will climb on to this bridge (most of the time on the installed trays itself) to lay the cables. For loads per metre the loads considered are correct.

In case the bridge is very high and in a windy area you may like to add wind loads also. (Civil engineers can give you better idea about the same)
