loading office 2003 into Vista OS

I have a new laptop with Vista as the OS that I am trying to transfer my Office 2003 from my XP. it will load the programs but when i try to run them they wont start up. i am getting a "not compatible with OS message". is Windows Office 2003 compatable with Vista? if it is do i need any patch to make it work?

No patch. You will have to go to Office 2007 for compatibility.
