Can we transmit power via wireless medium....... resembling to the communication frequencies?

As Thunder can transmit such a high energy without disturbing the atmosphere in contact! So, may we able to handle wireless transmission line.

Nikoli Tessla thought this was possible. He never was able to achieve it. Tessla is the father of the A/C motor and many other things such as the high voltage Tessla coil.
