bhankii (and anybody else in Texas area),

Yes, bhankiii, (Note the iii, TVP45) We are trusting that you and your loved ones are OK, along with others in Ike's path.

I see there is a bhankiii at your same location, who is a member at http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=6187.0

Kind Regards....

I thought Steve had gone off to the far side of the world or I would not have left him out.

bhankiii, sorry about demoting you to bhankii. Old eyes and all that.

Be well.

"Far" is a relative term...Kuala Lumpur, I believe, but not due to leave for there until about three weeks hence. He reported in in his own "should I stay..." thread as survived. Bhankiii went to Dallas, I believe. Don't know about others...?

The "clean" side of the eye wall rode right over the top of us in Alvin, TX. I was catching water in buckets inside our apartment, but we made it out okay. Still no power there, so my wife and I are staying with family. I'm actually glad we stayed for the storm, had we of not, my book collection would have been ruined with water damage. Moving furniture (book cases) during a hurricane in the dark isn't fun, but I got it done!

One of my guys rode it out in Taylor Lake Village. It was not fun - with the rain blowing so hard it was forced through the joints in his wooden door. Luckily the surge was < 11 feet. If it had been the predicted 18-20, none of us would houses left.

I am alive and well. I live to the north of NASA Rd 1 and to the west of hwy 146. Those on the south (water) side of NASA Rd 1 and the east (water) side of 146 received severe damage, but we are OK. Just a downed tree and fence. Power (including cable and Internet) was out for a week, but we are back up now.

Thanks for caring.

I am in the Webster, Bay Area, and 528/NASA road 1 area on a fairly regular basis (or I was before the storm), how did that area make out? Hopefully my favorite restaraunts Samuri's and Tokyo Bowl made out okay!

Most of the area is OK. A lot of buildings near the water were flooded. Generally things bordering NASA did OK, except some lower parts of Nassau Bay.
