Make a small batch in lab. and check your formulation.

Sulphonation often is carried out with Falling Film Reactors, and if you are using the same then your cooling water is not cold enough. vapour phase reaction is taking place and then forming solids that later settles on the ground

ADDENDUM

For some insight into the Transport Phenomena of Falling Film [fluid dynamic-based] equipment see our article at:

www.gbanalysts.com/Reading%20Room/Situation%20Analysis/BiodieselTechs/ffilmmeOHevaporativebddistill.html - sorry, link no longer available

However, for some more insightful analysis of Faling Film Sulphonation Reactor, look for the compilations of the 2nd World Congress of Chemical Engineers 1981 held in Montreal, Canada. I believe that in the vol 2 - if not also check vol 1 - there is an article entitled "Mathematical Modeling of Falling Film Sulphonation Reactor". That should give you some guide. The representation of the interfacial differential equation in that article could be repackaged into Voltaire Integral Equation. Evaluate the mathematical "norm" of the integral operator making sure that the norm is less than 1 (unity) to ensure solution (Existence Condition) and the combination of operating values that keeps the "norm" less than unity should always work. If you should have problem with this contact me again but directly at (editor @ gbanalysts.com)

Good luck

Hello sandeep lokhande

The "White smoke heavier than air" is probably a mixture of SO2 and SO3, both of which are extremely corrosive to equipment and dangerous to persons and animals.

As "Guest" above suggests, you should check your formulation, because your plant should not emit these fumes.

Please advise from where the "White smoke heavier than air" is actually being emitted. (From exactly where in the plant)

Reply here, with

Kind Regards....
