Conversion Calculations for Liquid Oxygen and Liquid Argon

09/16/2008 6:59 AM

We have got liquid oxygen storage tank, which is having conversion chart of level (mmWC) to equivalent gaseous oxygen (cubic meter). Now the problem is when we have converted the tank for filling up liquid argon, we don't have the conversion chart. So, exact quantity of liquid argon at certain level cannot be known. So, how can i convert from level in mmWC to cubic meter of liquid argon by simply viewing the level guage.

Regards,

Pankaj

Alternatively, Aire Liquide and AirGas are two other suppliers that could probably help. Not sure of your location...

be carefull while switching over from oxygen to argon in a same vessel.

As argon has more density (1398 Kg/m3), compared to oxygen (1142 Kg/m3), tank may undergo mechanical failuare.

Ragarding chart you can take the ratio of density at differant pressure and multiply oxygen chart values with this ratio, you will get the required data

Its verey easy. Density of liquid argon is 1.4, now calculate delta P. FINISH. Incase of any problem, contact.
