Non contact powder coating measurements

09/17/2008 8:46 PM

What's the best way to measure powder coating thickness? Is it through optical or ultrasonic? What's the pros and cons? The powder particles has a diameter of about 5~10 microns so gauge should have high accuracy.

It does not make a difference. The ultrasonic is a bit easer to use. When using either of these devices on textured paint, nether work very well because the peeks and valleys.
