How useful is watt saver as in eco relay etc

I m a research student doing my studies. I had run refrigerator tests and realised that watt saver when incorporated in a refrigerator do a little saving in power consumed. Do anyone out there with experience agreed.

Cos we designed a watt saver capable of saving 2W but when actual running test according to AHAM standard, realise that is useless due to many experiment uncertainty e.g the power meter uncertainity, equipment..etc
