CCTV Integration

09/25/2008 3:50 AM

Yesterday one client came and ask to put more camera to his building.

The existing CCTV system was a COLOR OBSERVATION SYSTEM and was one monitor and 4 camera like is in the link...

http://www.omigasecurity.co.uk/cctv.html

The problem is that our company just provide normal CCTV camera that connect with DVR with RG 59 cable and our DVR are all like that but the Bosch system was

with Cat 5 cable some how like IP camera or maybe IP camera.

so how to do to integrate our system with this Bosch system?

We wont to keep the existing 4 Bosch camera and to put one 8 Ch DVR and 4 camera more because they don't wont to make all new.

Thank you for time and care

All the best

I can't quite understand what you're saying.

Do you mean to say that the Bosch system uses webcams or PCcams instead of standard cameras? Their DVR has USB inputs instead of RG59 inputs? You want to connect normal CCTV cameras to their DVR?

If that's the case, I think there are video-to-USB converters on the market. These can convert standard CCTV signals to USB-type signals. Just google for them.

Right, now I don't know what type of camera they're using but it seems that only their cameras will work for their DVR.

Why not just buy the cameras from Bosch then? You can buy it direct from Bosch via the internet. If you're not comfortable or don't know how to do that, just get in touch with them using the contact information in their website. I'm sure they'd be willing to help you find a way to purchase their products.

The system in your link was for 8 cameras. Just get your cameras from them.
