good day to all..most of us are familiar with hunter's curve in sizing water pipe services. Although it is derived from diversity of usage of plumbing fixtures, It seems that using this for high rise building will results to having large pipes. Can anyone suggest better solution for sizing water pipes for hi-rise buildings?
Other textbooks suggest of having 20% diversity factor, example 100 storey -- just used the 20 topmost floor for your main pipe sizing (I guess this is the percentage of users that will use water in during peaks).
Do hunter's curve still applicable at present time now that we have lots of low flow fixtures?
