Most fine enamelled wire is copper, as you can draw it down to a fine gage. The drawing is through successive diamond dies with tiny holes in them and a lubricant. The wire is pulled with it's own strength, so each pass though a die only reduces it slightly. Since drawing a wire makes it longer you need a careful process to control the successice draws and to avoind any kinks or jerks.
Enamelling is also through dies, but they just apple a thin layer of ename; and the wire is then baked in a oven and gets another layer until you build up the degree os insulation.
The enamel needs multi layers to avoid pinholes. Modern enamel comes in 4 types. Urethane, which is self fluxing and solderable. Nylon, which has higher temperature rating , polyester, higher again and silicone, the highest.
You would have to go to a specialist enamel maker to get more data
