u mean electric shocks this come from touch any life cables or touch any metalic thing carry electric current and the human resistance be difference according the place of shock like at arms not like at head and like that so when they use electric to make some one tell some secrets at war they connect it at his neek near to his head becuse its resistance be so small so he feel with pain so much and when the human touch the source of current it flow due it so fast to ground and that what we call it short circuit fault at power system protect against it high speed circuit breaker to disconnect so quick and i forget tell u when the human be wet with water his body have low resistance and have shocks more quick due to short circuit fault ths current be so high and voltage be law and this kind of fault have alot types may be tell u later if u want know
While you have already clarified the point,I wish to further explain that value of current changes depends on resistance of shock current path i.e. higher the resistance, lower will be the current.
Also, when the resistance is more the votage drop (current multiplied by resistance) is more.Value of voltage changes in accordance with the resistance of the path.
Therefore values of both current and voltage change depending on resistance of path.
it is good too to note that what kills or harm is not the voltage rather it is the current that flows because of potential diffrence.
for a shock to occur, there must be a potential diff btw the person and the item in contact.
so if the person and item are in equipotential, there is likely going to 'no' shock. that is evident in the linesmen on the HV transmission lines. we se lines men working with even care hand. that is achieved because the man, the line and whatever he is standing on are all at the voltage level. so the voltage in contact with the man and that of the lines are equipotential.
hence, no potential difference, no current flow, and no shock.
The shock is experienced due to potential difference. The damage is due to the current flowing thru(I square R heat).
The voltage is getting applied across the human body resulting in power flow.If the protection system is effective ,the fuse/MCB in the affected phase fuses/trips to isolate the faulty section.
As such, we may not be able to assess the condition of voltage or current but definitely our condition will be pathetic(depending on yr body constitution which is one of the deciding factors deciding the resistance being offered to the flowing currents).
R U interested in the voltage/current wave forms during the fault ?That might be difficult to ascertain.
