'Sample' presumable has it's dictionary meaning, the detailed answer depends on what you are sampling 'communication' is too broad a topic to allow a definitive answer.
Do you mean a digital data stream? Audio communication? The written word?

What I have written above is 'communication' I shall take a sample of it, say 30 sequential characters
"tionary meaning, the detailed "
...these could be analysed and various conclusions drawn, e.g the language, the frequency of characters used etc.

This doubtless isn't what you require, but it illustrates the need for more information from you.

In everyday parlance, I'm not sure that a space counts as a character. A computer programmer might think so, but they aren't a majority (yet). The 'what' of the sampling is important, but the 'why' is possibly more so ? It's so dashed difficult to ponder a question when all the facts aren't given......................see, guest will now know think I'm sad, but never know if I truly am, or indeed why. Joe the plumber could be a good starting point for this one (although I'd prefer Gordon the retired).

Of course 'space' is a character you Jumping Jackaninny. You'll be saying zeros don't count as numbers next. I've told you 1,000,000s of times before.

('space' must be 40 characters or summat...I dunno...cant count 11 without me trousers down)

Re: i want answer

Aw, get real Ducky..... banks wanted to lend 1110% of an assetts value, people wanted to take on a mortgage of 10x annual income....why shouldn't everyone else buy them out ? Our PM is doing his heroic best - Bank leaders who participated have been 'encouraged' to step down, albeit to re-emerge late in a similar job....from a Brit perspective I'd ask why the Chancellor at the time didn't put a break on it........wonder who that was ?.....Ooops....bit off topic, but couldn't resist saying. My, my, now the Gov't want to directly supervise the whole scam.....living within ones means seems to have been forgotten somewhere along the way. I'm delighted that the system seeks to reward those who wanted a quick profit. Not ! My local Turf accountant seemingly offers a lucrative rate of return..................doh.....I wonder if it would be reckless to invest in it......."Investments may go down as well as up' should be tatooed on some peoples heads.....rant,rant,rant....

It all started with the SUV!!! piece of rollover rubbish with likewise imbecile consumer attitude....

They didn't put a brake on because they damn well encouraged it..and worked as investment bankers in their prior jobs. Paulson was head ceo of Morgan Stanley .....guess where his investments are? Guess who's getting bailed out first?

At least in Canada the regulations were set up so as to protect the investor (Clinton, incidentally, was part of the consultancy who helped tune it).

My moneys' in the stone fence.

More suitable in an email string than to hang your laundry out to dry, no?
