Medicon M340 PLC (Schneider PLC)

10/20/2008 8:35 AM

Hi Friends of PLC

Currently I am working on one of the Schneider PLC family called Medicon M340 that is programmed by Unity Pro XL V3.0 aplication software

My job is designing a PLC program on the system for Manual and Automatic operation. Currently the system is operating by few elementary input variables that are introduced in the Animation tables. Truly speaking, I stared this project without sound practical experience on Schneider PLC.

As per my boss the entire program should be done only by using the section called ST and SFC. Now, at the moment of the simulating my program (one unit of the plant), I am having some uncertainty to present. This uncertainty is the following.

When I have gradually activating the SFC steps, transitions and finaly closing the entire cycle looks normal. On this process, I did not see the activation simultanea of the SFC steps. Always one steps at a time but on the animation table all value remain stable on 1 and 0 (as expected for the process).

After completing the all cycle the Steps are activated each time one step after another step cyclicaly (switching in between color GREEN and WHITE at given frequency) but the transition remain at color GREEN all the time.

One of my friends told me that like Ladder diagram of SIEMENS PLC, on my case, the SFC steps also should remain on the green color. So my question is the following.

1) On normal operation (simulation) the SFC steps, remain on green color or they do cyclical scanning through out each step by steps?

2) If SFC steps should remain activated all the time (with green color all the time) can you give me some hint around my simulation result errors?

Thanks for ur cooperation
