How to know the current leakage % in cables?

Carry out an insulation test using a Megger (usual disclaimer) or similar instrument.

The sum of the currents should be zero for phase/s and neutral if used. If any leakage then current will flow in grounding cable. If you measure ground current, then we will know % leakage for the system.But "Where it is getting leaked"is the question. Measurement of voltage between live and sheath of cable is also one of indicator for any insulation failure ( Indicative only).
