mechanical big bag folding machine

10/25/2008 2:49 PM

we are a bulk bag/supersack recycling co.

we clean the bags (made from woven polypropleyne fabrics) 5.0 oz to 7.5 oz

material

the standard foot of the bag is 36x36 or 36 x 41

the height is 36 to 72 inches tall

extending above the top of the bag are 4 10-12" liftloops

and extending above that approx 6-8" is a fill spout

we are trying to find a mechanical version of the wildly popular "t-shirt" folding machine

we feel that we can mechanically fold a bag with two folds and prepare the bag to be put in a downstroke baler for compression

we normally "bale" 100 folded bags to a bale

the bag will then be put on a pallet and strapped or shrinkfilmed to be ready for shipment to our customers

if you are not familiar with bulk bag designs, our web address is www.twjbags.com

at the present time we recycle approx. 28-35000 pieces per month

and that is a lot of manually folding we need to eliminate

Best Regards

TW Jones

On the main page for Globalspec you will see the list for Products and Suppliers. Some of the subgroups are: Manufacturing and Process Equipment and Industrial Automation. These types of companies have experience in doing some very creative machines such as rolling condoms. Somebody has to do it.

I would send an email to a number of the sales departments of these companies. You will likely find companies that have designed similar machines to what you need.
