Chemical Engineering: 2005 Salary Survey

05/20/2005 1:00 PM

ChemicalProcessing.com has released its first-ever salary survey. Last year, about 85% of the respondents got a raise. Most engineers are happy with their jobs; however, some remain concerned that only the top performers reap the rewards. What's the view like from where you work?

1985 and money

These numbers need some sort of cost of living index or salary range. I have the feeling that most of these engineers live in high cost of living areas so the salary might not be as great as it sounds.

Also 22 years experience? That's a lot; I shudder when I think what the digital world looked like in 1983.Lets see, Lotus 1-2-3 came out that year, The IBM PC XT, MS Word was released, and of course ARPANET became the Internet. That was the year Wargames came out so that should be a good indication.
Would you like to play a game?
