MOSFET Modeling

05/20/2005 4:00 PM

Researchers from Penn State and Philips have developed a model of metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) behavior based on the extensive use of surface potential measurements. The so-called PSP model promises to improve the simulation of a wide class of circuits that cannot be simulated properly with existing models. According to Philips, all details of the PSP model will be made available on the Internet for free.

Testing

05/23/2005 8:52 AM

I'm glad to see this type of testing. There is nothing more frustrating then trying to trouble shoot an alpha release chip. You can never tell if it's a design flaw or a manufacturing flaw. I hope this new test removes most of the "opps" level errors.
