Simaris, DocWin, Ecodial or something else ?

11/05/2008 7:14 PM

Hello everybody

I m electrical engineer and I would like to hear your opinion for the above mentioned softwares. I have a lot of pressure in my work and I really cannot spend a lot of time to try and test all the package to find the "best" one. So I think it would be interest (for all of us) to hear some opinions from people who have worked with these softwares.

I know that Simaris, Docwin and Ecodial are free of charge. So a comparison between these packages is interested.

Do you know any software equipped with real time simulation feauture for a LV netkwork ?

Thank you for your time

George :)

I agree but what about the functionality and the capabilities of the program ? I think that DocWin is a bit better than ecodial. Any idea about SIMARIS (Siemens) ?

Also is there any software for real time simulation of a LV electrical network ?

thank you for your time

I worked with all the three softwares and also softwares like ETAP,Easypower and EDSA.

Ecodial, docwin and Simaris can not be compared with dedicated softwares like ETAP & others....

I would rate DOCwin, Simaris and Ecodial in descending order.

Selecitivity Curves for the individual Acbs, tripping devices will be available only of their make devices like DOCWIN--ABB devices,

Simaris-Siemens

and

ECOdial- MG

These softwares will generate selevity curves only for LT side coordination.

Thanks for the answer ramvinod

I m also interested about a more advanced software, propably like ETAP, Eayspower and EDSA. However I m not sure what best fits in my needs. I m working on low voltage design projects for large office buildings or small industries. A real time simulation of an electrical installation is a feature I really need. I would appreciate any comment on the differences or the target groups between these powerfull softwares

thank you

George
