Chinese motorcycles/quadbikes

11/06/2008 5:39 AM

Has anyone got any opinions on the chinese motorcycles/quads. I'm thinking of getting a new Quad or a small trial bike for road use and would like to hear of any ones experience or views on them. I've tested a Kinroad xt125gy trail bike & a xt200atv dinasour quad, they seemed ok but I don't really know what to look out for.

Thanks Andy.

where do you get them serviced?

where do you get replacement parts?

these are the most important things, im my opinion.

From what I have seen, thye are knock-offs of the older Japanese machines, but a whole lot cheaper. Almost to the point that they are a throw away item. As long as you are mechanically inclined and don't do any serious off-road riding, you might want to take a chance. My experience with things like this is they tend to break more often than the non-knock-off stuff, but are not so complicated that you can't fix them and keep going. As long as you are willing to put up with the more occasional repair/modification, then they are OK.

My experience fixing old Japanese motorcycles and having many years of experience lead me to suggest not buying these machines. The ones I have seen are not well made and parts are difficult to obtain.
