10/15/2006 7:59 AM

Please explain how to calculate the pull/force of a contactor.

If a DC/AC coil of say N turns is carrying certain current. let's say I. A soft iron piece/plunger is placed inbetween. Upon actuating, contactor will experience a holding force/pull. How it is to be calculated? Please reply.
