Wear resistance SS304 Vs SS316

which grade has better wear resistance SS304 or SS316. Application is on a table top where machined aluminum parts are slided.

That may not be a good idea. Aluminum and stainless do not slide well together unless you use a good lubricant (like nickel paste, for example).

I Would suggest a UHMW top for sliding aluminum parts. It would work much better than a stainless top. and it would ultimately be cheaper.
