Xirrus delivers to Impress Communications and PDC2008

11/19/2008 2:11 PM

I came across this new blog ( www.hiptech101.wordpress.com ) and he had posted about a wireless company called Xirrus. Although their product looks like a flying saucer or UFO, I found the post to be useful and amazing, but wanted to share it with you guys as well. I'll paste it here:

"I have been following an amazing Wi-Fi company called Xirrus. They specialize in high performance Wi-Fi. Recent projects from Xirrus consists of the deployment of Xirrus Arrays at Microsoft's Professional Developer's Conference 2008 (PDC2008) and the deployment of Xirrus Arrays at Impress Communications.

Microsoft's Professional Developer's Conference 2008 was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) in CA from October 26th through the 30th. This was going to be a big event with many users that needed Internet connection. Xirrus came in and did the job with no problem at all! Xirrus' deployment consisted of only 16 Wi-Fi Arrays across three large areas of the LACC and it delivered high-speed Internet connectivity to thousands of attendees. They deployed 14 XS16 and 2 XS8 Xirrus 802.11abg Wi-Fi Arrays.

Jennifer Ritzinger, Senior Director at Microsoft, was worried about the significant challenge of providing connection for the thousands of users at PDC2008, but she claimed that even with challenges, Xirrus was still able to enable "all attendees to have a seamless and consistent connectivity experience while at the event."

Impress Communications, an energy efficient printing facility located in Chatswoth, CA, just deployed 802.11abg+n Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays in their facility. Impress chose to upgrade to Xirrus 802.11n so that they can dfeliver greater bandwitch and throughput needed to wirelessly transfer their large art files throughout their facility.

Paul Marino, Executive Director at Impress Communications, stated that they switched to Xirrus because they were "disappointed with tradition Wi-Fi access points" and only the Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays can give them the "coverage, bandwidth, and throughput required by their graphic artists with the least amount of product.""

I learned more about the company when i went to www.xirrus.com, this may just be what everyone needs. Also this video link was on the blogsite as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNb8iKXhux4
