ABB Rapid Programming - Multitasking

11/20/2008 9:04 PM

I'm new to Rapid programming and I'm trying to set up a background program. I've been reading the Reference Manual about multitasking and it talks about the teach pendant only accessing the Main Task. It it possible to write a background task on the teach pendant? If not, is there any way I can make a section of code run it the background using the teach pendant?

First, does this controller have the option multitasking? Second, is this an IRC5 or S4? Assuming this is an IRC5, the first thing I would do is make sure it has 5.11 Baseware or newer on it. If not, go to ABB's website and get the latest version of Robot Studio.

Before we venture any further, I would verify this.
