Your backlights may have gone out, or the ballast for them. The usual mode of failure is the tubes go first, which overloads the ballasts which then fail.

The backlights are usually very small (4 mm) diameter flourescent tubes, about the diameter of uncooked spaghetti.

Google for LCD backlights, there is plenty of info out there, and companies that provide parts.

Or it may not be your monitor - your video card could have failed.

Swap it out for another monitor to test your video card.

it sounds like a pin or wire failure, that allows the red component to dominate.

reseat the connector at both ends

Most likely cause is a loose cable. Check VGA cable connection. 99% chance it will solve the problem. If it does not as suggested by others check VGA card.

Check your video card by using another monitor, if it works OK, take your LG monitor back for warranty replacement. Don't mess with it in any way because they can use that as an excuse to void the warranty.

Sorry not to agree on with others, but in my experience in most cases it's only a cable contact problem.

Yes, agree, its most likely the cable, or the connector on one end. Try another cable, & try the monitor on another PC first, b4 going for the faulty monitor solution.

We've just had this exact problem. Thought it may have been the monitor, but then realised we could resolve the problem by holding the VGA lead at the back of the monitor, "at a certain angle", & the colour was restored to normal. New Cord - Problem solved!

(Assuming that the VGA Cable is plugged into the back of the monitor)
